This is a version of DRS2S that can be done with a shorty wrap. The half-knots at the chest belt are sufficient to hold the carry in place, and the tails simply dangle in front.
1. Start with the middle marker of the wrap at the middle of your chest.
2. Get your baby on your back.
3. Create a rebozo pass over your baby’s back.
4. Pin only the top rails.
5. Pull down excess fabric
6. Hook your fingers in the wrap and pull up between you and baby. forming a knee-to-knee seat.
7. Gather the tails in front of you and strand-by-strand tighten.
8. Bring the tail under your arm under the other tail
9. And wrap it around the hanging tail to create a half-knot.
10. you could now stand straight up if you needed to.
11. I switch rails before the shoulder flip to have the front turn out symmetrical. It’s totally optional.
12. Shoulder flip
13. Pass wrap to other hand and get it nice and high on baby’s back.
14. Make sure that there is no slack or wrinkling.
15. Gather the tail and make sure the pass is tucked up into the seat.
16. Bring the tail up over the chest belt…
17. …and tuck down through the chestbelt.
18. Pull evenly but gently (pull too tight and you risk losing the seat) on the two tails to even out tension.
19. I find the spreading out the fabric in the knots helps avoid pressure points.
20. If you have slack in your carry, you can strand-by-strand tighten it out at this point
21. By pulling on the corresponding strand.
22. Spread both knots
23. I like to spread shoulders down…
24. …and then fold them up to get a less diggy shoulder.
25. Shorty DRS2S from the front
26. Shorty DRS2S from the back
27. Shorty DRS2S from the side
