This is an index for using Asian-inspired carriers such as Mei-Tais, podeagis, onbuhimos, etc
BASICS
Mei Tais are essentially a rectangular panel of several layers of fabric, from which 4 straps come from the 4 corners. A mei tai can have different types of straps, padded, unpadded, or wrap-style straps are just a few. Some people’s mei tais have rings attached at the waist in place of a knot or a buckle.
Podeagis are blankets with one long strap running across the top. There are wide-blanket podeagis and narrow-blanket ones. Narrow-blanket are more popular in the US, and the wide blanket is more like the traditional style from Korea.
Onbuhimos are like mei tais, but have one loop of fabric (or sling ring) at either side of the bottom of the carrier instead of having waist straps.
